Little Claus and Big Claus

The fairy-tale is eternal. This is the story about rich people, who do not  grudge the poor people anything at all.

The painting illustrates the scene where Big Claus is angry, because Little Claus schouts " Gee up my horses" even though Big Claus told him not to. Actually, only one of the horses belongs to Little Claus - but on sundays he borrows Big Claus' four horses.

In return Little Claus' horse is at Big Claus' disposal for the rest of the week.

By killing Little Claus' horse Big Claus misses out on a great advantage. Many people with power only want to exercise this power - even though it is foolish.
