The Little Mermaid

The motif is from the passageway in the fairy-tale where the little mermaid and the prince meet. She is dumb and has only one leg.
This fairy-tale left me in big doubt. How could I illustrate that it will be very painful for her to walk on human legs? But then I started thinking about prosthesis for people who have lost one or both legs. That must be painful, at least in the beginning.
The fishtail is situated in front of the two people, and there is a car behind the prince.
