Little Ida´s Flowers
(30X41 cm) 1999

Children's imagination is wonderful. H.C. Andersen's fairy-tale about little Ida's belief that flowers come alive at night is as true today as it was back then.

On the painting it is in the middle of the night. I have modernized the world of little Ida by painting modern toys next to her bed. Except from the modern toys, this illustration could have been used in the fairy-tale that H.C. Andersen wrote in 1835. It was rather difficult to give the flowers legs - that's easier for a writer.
