ittle Tiny or Thumbelina
(30X40 cm) 1997

A fairy-tale is - well yes - a fairy-tale and it is not always possible to modernize them, because nobody gives birth to a child as small as the child in "Little Tiny or Thumbelina".

Because of her size, the child not normal. However, children can feel neglected for other reasons too. Today children often feel neglected because of psychical problems that cause the isolation. The painting shows a child who feels neglected. The other people on the painting do not take an interest in her.

The skin on the abdomen is missing and the symbols inside their stomachs show what they do for living.
