In 1988 I was assigned the task of creating a present for the then boundary association:" Two lions". You can see the result here.
In the background you see the weapon of Schleswig with two lions on it. On my painting, the animals have been simplified and thus one can only see their heads. I painted three heads: one for northern Schleswig, one for southern Schleswig and one for Bonn. Bonn was the German centre of government.
Also there are a lot of money on the painting - a metaphor for the economy? The economy that influences everybody and everything in the world of today.
The flags have rather neutral colours. In that way they can represent all countries. Boundary problems are present almost everywhere when two countries adjoin.
